How do we leverage ASU’s unique exploration assets and NASA mission involvement to provide students with an immersive and relevant learning environment that will give them practice and insight into the exploration process?


The ASU Space Works project offers sequential, semester-long, workforce development classes that offer undergraduate students in ASU’s School of Earth and Space Exploration and Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering the opportunity to participate in NASA mission-focused, project-based learning opportunities.

Key accomplishments

  • Launched Space Works, a course that prepares students for the STEM workforce through team projects in collaboration with NASA.
  • Won a student collaboration contract for the NASA Discovery Lucy mission, setting a new paradigm for effective undergraduate learning.
