Mars on the Field

How do we galvanize public and private support for space exploration, an arena that can seem inaccessible to most people?

“Mars on the Field” will offer an immersive walkable virtual reality experience that takes place on the physical Sun Devil Stadium field. As users begin at one end zone, they will explore the history of human understanding of Mars.

Key Accomplishments

2022-2023

Completed their first in-person MVP demonstration of the VR experience at Sun Devil Stadium on May 2, 2023.

2023-2024

Crafted a core narrative experience that builds on the technology by focusing on the human story of Mars.
Developed a functional website version of the previous immersive on-field experience.
Presented their VR Stationary Experience and Booth Content at the ASU Space Futures Convening in January 2024.
